WW2 British SAS
The Special Air Service (SAS)was formed in July 1941 as a commando force to operate behind enemy lines in the North African Campaign. They carried out raiding and reconnaissance in order to gain intelligence, destroy enemy aircraft, and attack enemy supply and reinforcement routes. Their uniforms were usually quite varied as they made use of the supplies they had, as well as local clothing such as chapplies (desert sandals) and Arab head-dress, to better suit the desert conditions.
